Christmas Legos

In this house if you help put the kids to bed you can earn lego building time that you don't have to share with any other member of the family.

Steve has been waiting all year to get his hands on this Doctor Who set.

I am loving this new cookbook Jen got me for Christmas. The main point this book makes is that our bodies can't digest processed foods and artificial ingredients... which causes all sorts of uncomfortable ailments. When you eat whole foods and grains your body works and feels much better.

We have tried a new recipe every night this week. Steve was skeptical of this zucchini lasagna, yet he said he was surprised by how good it was and he even ate all the leftovers. Steve is very upfront.... if I make something he doesn't like he is sure to tell me, which I find helpful.

Just finished putting together his Star Wars Shuttle.

He is a mini Steve in the making.

Sleepy Weekend

First one out.

Second one out.

Third one out... which provided ample time for Steve to sit and watch Doctor Who.

Up early Sunday morning playing. I have a Stake calling and have been gone tons. When I get home from whatever ward I have been at I get a report from Steve of how things went at church with the kids. We seem to have different ideas of what it means to watch the kids.It makes me  really glad that Steve works during the week and that I am at home with the kids.

Evan really wanted to make this. He thought it was great. Toast with applesauce & cheerios.

It's Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

The kids were up and looking for hidden gifts this morning.

Even Hailey's doll Kit got a present.

What a face!

Got to look everywhere for hidden presents.

Found one!

Steve told her she was getting a card board box for Christmas.

She didn't like that.

It was full of cute doll furniture.

With every present that Evan opened he told us "this is what I've always wanted!"

And, of course, everybody got a new book for Christmas.

Matching dresses.

After Hailey and Evan were done, it was time for Mom and Dad to open gifts.

When you buy your own Christmas gifts you are bound to like them...

Doctor Who Legos.... who wants them more? Steve or Evan?

Evan wanted to claim all the Lego sets.

And finally, out on the porch was a bike!

They have to learn to share.

A balance bike is supposed to help the kids learn balance.

I think Hailey did pretty well for her first day.

Now for Christmas at the Ashcraft's.

Evan just had to go out exploring with his new binoculars.

And Steven just had to build a new set he got.

It's the Nauvoo Temple!

Even on Christmas Day.... all Ashcrafts read books!

And the best part of the day was talking to Gillian all the way down in Nicaragua!
