Happy Birthday Hailey!

Out for birthday donuts.

Next we hit up an indoor playground with her cousins.  Hailey wanted to play in some bounce houses.

Then it was back to grandma's house for dinner, cake, and presents.

Of course she couldn't wait to get into Nana's frosting.

Evan followed suit.

Building her new Cinderella Lego set.

More Legos

Can you tell everyone has caught Lego fever around here?  Look at Evan.  He's obsessed with Steve's Star Wars Legos.

More building before work.  Steve tried to swap out his little Star Wars ship with one from his childhood for Evan to play with at home.

Evan still asked why daddy took his Star Wars ship to work.

We tried to keep the glitter contained to a cookie sheet.

Building with Legos

Thursday... got to wake up early to assemble Dupos before Dad leaves for work.

Friday morning... more Lego building before Dad leaves for work.

He wanted the ambulance to fly.

Steve has been teaching Hailey how to read the instructions and build things... and now she wants to build all the time. She gets so excited to build and loves to show me the finished project, like this Lego police station with police boats.

I asked Steve to read stories to the kids and help put them to bed. It seems like he was in their room forever, like until 10:00pm.... 2 hours after she should have been asleep. I didn't check on him because I was too busy enjoying a little rare free time for myself. The next morning I hear from Hailey that Steve was showing Hailey all sorts of girl Lego sets on his Kindle. Steve just can't resist the opportunity to share his Lego happiness with others. Hailey has a birthday next week and all of her presents have already been bought. Now she's convinced she is getting her own Lego Cinderella set. I had to have a chat with Steve about what a bedtime story is. There is now an extra present wrapped, waiting for next week. Steve can hardly wait.

I remind myself all the time that it is much more enjoyable for me to be married to a Lego enthusiast than a sports-obsessed husband any day.

Life with a little boy

Caught! Someone smeared Mom's mascara all over her room while she was in the shower.

Stole Hailey's headband so he could tease her.

Check out Hailey's face.

Get him.

He also took apart a Lego set Steve spent all night putting together. Then when we were painting outside he threw a glass cup and smashed it to pieces... and laughed. At dinner he threw a giant ball into our artichoke chicken casserole... tastes like dirt now.

Then he found and devoured Steven's box of gourmet jelly beans. HA! Somehow that made me feel better.

Presidents' Day

We took the kids to play in an indoor playground.

Ready... set...

Go!

What a great way to work out all that energy.

Evan was great at air hockey.  Who knew?

Argh!

Making pizzas for dinner.

We made barbecue chicken and pesto pizza.

Um... yum?

Sundays

Hanging out with Mom before Church.

Evan: "Hey mom you smell that?"
Me: "Yes, it stinks."
Evan: "I know I have gas" Lots of laughs. "You like it Mom?"
Me: "No, I don't."
Evan: "I do!" Laughs and laughs and laughs.

Just like his Dad.

Sunday Lego building.

Valentines Day

The fairy said that if the kids were good she would come.

Hailey was so excited this morning. She was yelling for everyone to get out of bed and check this out!

Evan got up but he was so tired!

New Valentines books.

Star Wars Legos for Steve.

New shoes for Mom. Steve and I spent our Valentiens Day going to the temple, then to lunch, and browsing a book store.

Just got to play with all those fun balloons.

Such crazy hair!
