Happy 3rd Birthday Hailey!

Evan says wake up Hailey!

Every year we go for a walk and get donuts for breakfast.

Picked one with the sprinkles, of course.

Evan got a little taste too.

Too bad you can't have more baby!

While Steve was taking pictures, Hailey stole his donut and licked all the icing off.

Time to make our way home and burn off all that sugar.

Then time for a morning swim....

and time in the sand.

Then it was off to her first private pony lesson.

Our trainer said most kids her age last about 20 minutes.

Hailey lasted a total of 45 minutes. She would have stayed on longer if we had let her, but it was scorching hot in the sun and I wanted her to be able to walk when we were done.
Even Evan took a ride around the ring.
Hailey didn't want to wear the helmet....

 but she came around.

And the best part: no crying when we left. We also fed the other horses and watched one of them get a bath.

Time for some more cake.

Guess who thinks she's going to cut the cake?  Really she just wanted a bigger utensil to lick the icing off.

Grandma Kelly got her a big puzzle of horses and princesses

and a pretty new dress.

This scarf will go great with two dresses on.

These Calico Critters lives just got better: they're moving out of the box and into the Chateau.

It's not even 7 o'clock and Mama's already tired.

Awesome singing Rapunzel card from Gillian.  Hailey wanted to dance around the room with it.

Setting up the Pool

Our last pool got dinged by the lawn mower a few times...a few too many holes so we got a new one.

He is either on the move or eating grass.

Yum! Delicious Fat Toes!

Checking out the neighbor's dirt.

The first of our daffodils have bloomed.

Playing Together

Took Evan in to wake Hailey up from a nap.

Then it was time for a few stories.
Steve made some book ledges that run the whole length of the bed, which I just love.

So cozy together.

Headed upstairs.

Surprise! I'm up here!

She thinks she is funny.

So friendly....

So you thought..... the truth always comes out.

Headed downstairs.

All those YouTube ballet shows are paying off.

Decided to play in the jail cell together.

What could taste better than a mouthful of fake pearls?

She is focusing so hard on that toy.

First Word and Climbing Steps

Looks like Dada won the competition against Mama for Evan's first word.  So cute!

Evan loves to pull himself to standing.  His latest trick: climbing stairs.

Playing With Daddy

Evan is such a happy little baby.  Steven likes to play with him and make him laugh.

Family Party for Hailey's Birthday

Today we got together with both sides of the family to celebrate Hailey's upcoming 3rd birthday.

There was a funny squirrel that snuck up on the table and got into our food only to be chased away by Lynda.

The park was windy, which made it feel colder than the 63 degrees it was.

Time for a quick nap.

The kids played on the rocks, chased the ducks, and had a great time with Steve's remote controlled helicopter.

The kids took turns launching it from on top of their heads.

Then it got stuck in a tree!

A few times the helicopter got tangled in hair.

Lunch was tortilla soup that we heated on the grill, turkey croissant sandwiches, apples, water, and cake.

Glad to see Nana.

A fantastic My Little Pony cake by Lynda.

Usually she only eats the frosting....this time she actually ate the cake.

Delicious rainbow slices.

It was too windy for candles so we just pretended.

More cake please!

Judy's job is to hold the baby. That is what she is good at.

The kids took turns trying to pull Kaylee around in a box.

Lots of new cute dresses!

It is fun for Hailey to get to play with her cousins.

And then it was too cold to stay any longer.
