Kendra Leaves

Glad we could be there when Kendra got set apart to be a missionary!

We got to say goodbye one last time before she headed off to the airport.

These two little ones are going to look completely different when she gets back in 18 months.

He really likes being outside.

Pretending to take pictures with the lens cap as a pretend camera.

Running through people's yards on our walk.

She loves to play with the rocks in people's yards.

Score..... she chased this kitty until he was too tired to run from her anymore.

On the coolest backyard swing set ever.

She is pretty obsessed with playing with yard statues. We were talking to our neighbors at Christmas time and they were telling how they were creeped out to find that their Vigin Mary and other statues were constantly being moved around their yard. (Hailey wanted the boy statue to be near the Mary statue.) My neighbor thought maybe a spirit was moving them or it was some sort of sign from above. They were relived to hear it was just Hailey getting into their yard.

Hailey has been playing with the ash below our charcoal barbeque pit so we decided to get her a sandbox to play in instead.

So far she is delighted and it's going to be lots of fun. We made sure to get a sandbox with a top so neighborhood cats can't use it as a litter box.

My sister Lauren gave me this super awesome kit to grow different kinds of sprouts to eat.

Soak them for 8 hours in water, put them in these special trays, and watch them grow.

This is day 1. They take 4 days to grow and I will post pictures later when they are done growing. Sprouts are super healthy. They will be great in soups, salads, sandwiches, and in egg dishes. So exciting.... I love plants!

Little Chunkster is outgrowing the baby bath tub..... that makes me a little sad.

This little boy loves to splash..... I almost always have to use the mop to clean up all the water he gets on the floor.

Bunk beds, Bugs and a Bloody Nose

Sleeping so peacefully.

Hailey loves to try on Daddy's hats.
Evan learned how to pull himself up into a standing postion while hanging out in the laundry basket. While he was showing off he tipped over and got a bloody nose.... pretty pleased with himself.

It's been rainy so we have been eating lots of homemade soups out of our Blendtec

and chilli.
After about 10 days our little seeds started to sprout.

Laughing at his own jokes. This baby cracks himself up!

HA, Finally Hailey is not around.... and he can get into all the fun stuff.

He can reach up to the third shelf.

Now that Evan can pull himself into a standing postion we decided to set up the bunk beds. Once Hailey gets transitioned to the bunk beds he can move into the crib.

Jumping on the new mattresses.
.

If you are going to put up one bed you may as well do the other at the same time.

Yep, fallen off the ladder a few times already.

The bed is so much fun to play in and build forts in. We were hoping the transition from crib to bed would be easy. The first night she screamed for 1 1/2 hours straight becuase she didn't want to sleep in that bed. This week she's been getting up between 3-5 times and scream bloody murder and we have to hold her down for long periods of time utill she calms down and cries herself to sleep. So traumatic.... jeez!

We bought some little toys and if she wakes up in her own bed she gets one... so far that hasn't been enough motivation for her yet. Right now nobody is getting alot of sleep. My visiting teacher told me it took her kids 3 weeks to adjust to bunk beds.

Right now we put him in the crib to play and take naps during the day. Not sleeping well enough to spend the night in there yet; still up several times during the night. (Extra night waking due to teething; my poor kids have no pain tolerance, they must get that from me.)

Gillian made it home from BYU to hear Kendra's farewell talk in church. The kids were thrilled to see her.

We were glad that Judy and the Cammster graced us with their presence for lunch after Church.

They must like us because they brought cupcakes.

Our ladybug larvae finally showed up.

They came in a test tube. We started with 11 and now have 3 left that are still alive.

Such a contagious smile. Little Evan is now mobile and has started to crawl. Sometimes he gets stuck because his legs are so chubby he can't get them in the right spot.

Attempted Malibu Camp Out

Free as a bird in her camping dress. If you haven't heard, she hates pants. Not worth the fight she puts up.

My sister Kendra wanted to go camping one last time with the family before she entered the MTC.

Steve had to work the next morning so he just came up for the evening and was going to go home at night.

We don't own any camping equipment. We were just going to sleep in my family's tent.

Instead of traditional tin foil dinners we had terriyaki chicken, rice, and vegetables.

You camp in this area with trees and grass, and then across the street is the beach.

Hailey and Evan thought it was fun to play in the tent until it got dark... then it wasn't so much fun.

I was somewhat hesitant to come and stay without Steve's help. Evan, who is not a great sleeper, has started teething and is very fussy during the night. His crying wakes Hailey and before you know it you have two screamers and no one gets any sleep. In the end we went home with Steve because I knew if I stayed with the two little ones no one within a mile radius would get any sleep. Just trying to be courteous.

Steve said the people at the campground next to us looked relieved when they saw the kids get in the car to go home. I am pretty sure they heard Hailey screaming when she smashed her hand in the car door. The had already been screaming and crying before we decided to go home. Better luck next time.

A quick walk to the beach while the sun was setting.

Playing in the sand in the dark.

Time to get that fire going.

Still glad we came up for the time we did, even though we ended up going home.

So sleepy..... must be all the fire smoke that wiped him out.

Hailey was funny - she didn't want a metal stick for her marshmallow - she found a stick on the ground she wanted to use instead.
