Singing to the flowers

She claimed it was very important that she go outside "right now" so she could sing to the flowers.

Push the button and the the station talks and greets you in different  languages.... so fun.

She is fascinated by shadows recently. Getting ready to make a bunny shadow.

After a bath Hailey read us a story she wrote in her little journal about Goldilocks and the three crickets.

Kendra comes home from Cambodia

Another lazy afternoon at the beach.

"Dad... please please dig me a hole."

Ha! Now she can't run away!

Apparently the hole needs steps for easy entry.

My parents left 10 days ago to pick Kendra up from her mission in Cambodia.  We were the greeting party at the airport. The airport was super busy, and the flights were late so we were there for 2 hours.  There was nowhere to sit, the kids were bored, and got yelled at by a security guard for climbing on railings. I called my dad and told him we were going to abandon ship and meet them at home.  And what do you know, look who came down the escalator.

So much cooler here!

Welcome home, Kendra.

So Very Hot Outside

It's too hot to eat real food.

So excited to see the water.

First boogie board lesson.

With my siblings Clarice, Gillian, and Brent here we had an adult ratio of 2 adults per kid. Perfect.

The water was so warm today.

People always tell me at church Evan looks just like my brother Brent did when he was little.

Poor Clarice.... nothing like catching your high school yoga teacher at the beach in his swimsuit!

In the morning

Reading

Folding laundry.

Busy playing and building.

Getting ready to go play with friends.

Over the Weekend

Making fruit roll ups on the dehydrator.

So easy and delicious!

Evan was fascinated with the spinning chicken at the ward picnic

Going down the slide on one of the jump houses.

At one point this wafer and marshmallows looked like a little car.

We won a new lot of Bearenstein Bear books on ebay. If the kids are  good about going to bed the magical creatures might leave a book at the fairy door. This morning there was nothing there...they were surpised....maybe they will be better tonight.  So far the messy room and forgot your manners books have reinforced better behavior. Then again who knows how long that will last.

Just told her the friends she wants to play with are out of town.

Making Faces

What a noisy boy.  Look at that face!

Piggyback

Evan and Dad playing around several months ago

I Love Books!

Here is a clip of Evan from March. He  is such a little reader.  We read him a story and he comes back with another one saying, "you read me!"

Needed: A Little Boy to Scoop Flour.

Someone wanted to help make bread.

If only that tasted good.

My tongue is stuck.....I told him that would happen if he didn't stop .

Was it worth the mess? Yes!
