School Storybook Parade

Instead of having just a Halloween parade the school has a Storybook parade. The kids dress up as characters from books and bring that specific book to the parade.

Since Hailey and Evan dressed up James got to dress up too.

Evan got to be child of the week in his class. Every day he got to do a presentation for the first 10 minutes of class. Here we taught the popcorn song and then made popcorn to share with his class.  Evan was nervous at first, but he has done a great job talking in front of his class!

Time for the parade!

Hailey wanted to dress up like Ariel's (that's Ariel's cat on the cover).

Evan and his seatmate were both Gryffindor students.

Ward Halloween Party

The kids asked if I would by them some apple cider.

Roaming around at the ward Halloween Party (he didn't like wearing the lion head).

We have a plenty of dress up costumes at home so I told the kids they had to pick their costumes out of there. Maybe next year we will buy new Halloween costumes.

Got James to wear his lion head for a few laps around the gym.

So excited for trunk-or-treating.

All three kids have had a turn being a lion.  James (on the right) was the lion 2 years in a row.

Who wants to go to the Emergency Room?

Once upon a time a little boy looked like this.

Steve and James went for a run this morning and the stroller hit a rock, flipping the stroller. Good thing he was strapped in.

He likes his battle scars.

We got harassed by so many people we went in to make sure he didn't have a concussion.

Here is what the doctor said. They look for 3 things:
1. Were you knocked unconscious?
2. Have you thrown up  at least 7 times?
3. Are you acting unusual and out of character?

If you answer yes to any of those you have to go in for a brain scan.... other than that they stay home. I was glad not too much damage was done.

Let's not forget that last week at 2 in the morning I had to bring Evan in because he was wheezing so bad he was having trouble breathing.

And last month I had to bring Hailey in so make sure she didn't sprain her ankle. Seriously, I am going to say a prayer every day for the rest of the year that we can stay out of the ER.

Hailey was excited to get a package and get a new nightgown and one for her doll.

Parties

My little helper.

At a little Halloween party with my mom.

When on a walk you sit down and refuse to leave.

All tired out.... finally!

Let's face it no one wants to go to school all day and come home and do homework.

Just helping out in Evan's class.

Visiting with the McClellans

Steve's sister and her husband flew in from England, along with Steve's brother, his wife, and baby Alan. We don't get to see them very often, but we had a great time with them.

First we headed to Magic Mountain for a few hours.

Hanging out with Uncle Rob.

Such a happy face.

Going for a ride with Uncle Jason and baby Alan.

They closed down all the rides and handed out candy for a little bit.

Then we had a great time out for dinner at Northwoods Inn.

Steve was sick the next day with food poisoning... we think maybe it was his medium cooked steak. As for me I always like my meat cooked completely... no tinge of pink.

Aw!  Hugs for baby Alan.

We will see you guys next summer!
