Hailey's Blessing

Steve gave Hailey a wonderful blessing. See how happy she is!

Such tiny little feet.

Steve, share Hailey!

She's quiet when she's sleeping.

Brianna loves babies!

Papa McClellan is the only one to ever get that reaction from Hailey.

Day 21: Eating My Hand

Mmmm... hand... yummy...

This little baby just loves to suck on things all day every day

Day 20: Snug As a Bug

Hailey wants Mommy to buy her an ice cream cone

If Daddy was holding me he would give me a lick from his popsicle...

I have to have something in my mouth all the time. I don't share my pacifier with anyone!

Day 19: Baby Pictures

Baby in a basket

We want to have all sorts of pictures of baby Hailey so Steven and Gillian set her up in some poses around the house.

At one point Gillian was holding Hailey on her lap and felt Hailey warm her up... up and down her leg... and arm... and leak all over floor. Her diaper was still dry too.

Day 18: St Patrick's Day

Today my parents gave me a taste of a real fruit popsicle and I loved it!

Wearing my first pair of shoes

Where is Hailey's green for St. Patrick's Day? On my diaper there's a yellow stripe that turns green when I pee :)

Look! The leaves are starting to grow back on the trees!

Today we went downtown to see the City's Saint Patrick's Fair. We listened to some Irish music and saw people drinking lots of green beer.

Trying to pick up a date in his green, tie-dye shirt

The Shamrock Firefighters and Police were out and about there too.

Day 17: Shopping

Feels like summer. It's 84 degrees outside.

I like to go for walks and see the plants and animals outside.

I don't care if my Mom's clothes fit or not.

Day 16: Mound of Diapers

We've now gone through a whole box of newborn diapers (with 84 diapers in a box). Hailey was kind enough to demonstrate for us just how many that is... by sleeping on a pile of 84 diapers... that's a lot of diaper changes.

Day 15: Going to Church

Today Hailey is two weeks old and this was her first time at Church. She got to wear her pretty little dress; she looked so cute! Steven took her with him to Priesthood and Sunday School while Jeni was in the library. She was adored by everyone (and we can all see why), though Steven didn't share her. He loves his little girl!

Day 14: Baby Pictures

Who does baby Hailey look like?

Does she look like Steven?

Does she look like Jeni?

Day 13: Fisherman's Warf

Today we stopped off at Fisherman's Warf and looked at the boats. It's nice to get outside in the sun and fresh air. Hailey got weighed and she's back up to her birth-weight of 7 pounds.

Day 12: Fresh Air

It was nice to get outside in the fresh air and sun. Today was just perfect for going on a walk.

All bundled up

Ever since she was born Hailey has slept most of the time. At night she wouldn't wake up very often to eat. The other day Hailey was even more sleepy and though we tried to wake her and feed her she just wanted to sleep. Today was just the opposite. Now she just wants to eat. So every 2-3 hours she's ready to eat again (and fussy). Maybe the newborn sleepiness has worn off.

Day 11: Bath Time

These little hands can wave Hello
Or put smudges on the wall
They can fold in prayer, throw a kiss
Or reach up so very tall
They'll clasp your hand for a little stroll
Or shape a ball from clay
But most of all, they'll stay with you
When I'm grown up and far away

Such little feet

After working in plaster it was time for Hailey's first bath (now that her cord came off and she has a little belly button).

She loved being in the warm water. She was so calm about it we thought she'd fall asleep in the middle of her bath.

Day 10: Fun in the Sun. . . Through the Window

So nice to take a nap in the sunshine

There's that smile that we love so much (and is so hard to catch)

Day 9: Cousins

Hailey's cousins Sean and Brianna got to come by and spend the day with her today. They were so excited, especially Brianna who just wanted to hold the baby and play mommy. Unfortunately for her, though, she's getting over being sick and had to keep a safe distance from Hailey. Bri was pretty good about it though; she just needed constant reminding.

It was so good to see Greg and Annie and the kids. Ever since Sean was born four years ago Steven has wanted a little one of his own. We've seen them grow up and now Hailey has big cousins to look up to and play with.

Day 8: 1 Week Old!

Early this morning Hailey turned 1 week old. She is such a joy to us and she's doing so well. She wanted to wear a dress today even though she wasn't going to Church. Look how cute she is!

Day 7: The McClellans Come to Visit

Grandma McClellan and Aunt Jennifer

I love my Nana!

It was nice to have Nana and Papa and Auntie come see just what a great little baby Hailey is

Day 6: We Are So Blessed

Look how high I can go!

Today Hailey had her first-week doctor's checkup and she passed with flying colors. She's been nursing well and her jaundice is almost all cleared up.

We have so much to be thankful for. There are so many people who have health problems, financial hardships, or some other serious difficulty they must live with. We have a healthy, happy baby who is simply gorgeous and has such a happy disposition. There were never any complications during pregnancy or her delivery. We were able to prepare this whole last year for Hailey's arrival and got what we needed little by little.

Perhaps the greatest blessing of all is that we are sealed together as an eternal family in the Temple. Hailey brings such light into our lives and will continue to do so, even after this life.

That's our little Squeaker
