Sawtelle Peak and Henry's Lake

Up on top of Sawtelle Peak was super cold.

When we arrived it was pretty clear and we could see off into the distance, all around.

Then the clouds drifted in.

And stayed for the rest of the time we were up there.

We tried bundling up but it was bitterly cold.

We went inside the car and waited about a half hour to see if the clouds would clear up. They didn't, so we made our way back down the mountain.

Back at the cabin, cousin Sophie came by with baby Mateo.

Evan has been gathering firewood and helping to tend the fire pit.

Greg and Annie brought a couple ATVs along to go 4-wheeling. One of the conditions we set on our kids was no-ATV riding. Too many accidents.

After a while, we all went out to Henry's Lake.

It was really nice.

We skipped some stones.

We walked along the lakeshore.

Hailey brought along her camera to take some pictures.

We figured we'd walk partly around the lake.

We saw the occasional boat.

I stayed in the rear with my 2 slow-pokes.

We eventually caught up to the rest of the family.

I'm not totally sure where Sawtelle Peak is, but it's somewhere that-a-way.

Walking barefoot in the lake.

Evan got the fire going again for those who wanted to hang out, though it did sprinkle on us a bit.

Aubrey was climbing while we were at the lake earlier and hit her head. She screamed her head off and got patched up with a bandaid.
