Fondue

My in-laws took us to the theater and dinner for my birthday. We had the best time! The play at Glendale Center Theatre was Dear Ruth and it was very funny. Then we ate at a fondue restaurant, The Melting Pot, in Pasadena. We got the 4 course dinner and started with the cheese fondue.

We had meats, fresh breads and vegetables and apples to dip in the cheese. We licked that cheese bowl clean. The seconds course was salads.

As you can see there are 2 burners built into the table.

The third course was the meat entree. Your meat comes raw and you cook it 2-3 minutes a piece (the meat comes bite sized). This was Steve's plate, a variety of steaks, pork, chicken and shrimp. There was plenty to share between everyone.... everything from lobster to sausage in addition to the bowl of vegetables. Then they bring you about 8 different dipping sauces.

I had a Cajun spiced meat platter. By this time we were already feeling stuffed to the max.

Somehow that didn't stop us from dessert.  There was poundcake, brownies, white brownies, chocolate & graham cracker covered marshmallows, strawberries, bananas, and rice crispies. It took us three hours to eat and it was one of the most enjoyable meals I have ever eaten.

We  were so full we barely made it to the car and home.
